What does Charlottesville have to do with NASCAR and Appalachia?

Recently, the extravaganza known as the Night Races at Bristol Motor Speedway was held in East Tennessee.  The race usually attracts fans and media from far and wide. But this race brought some media outlets into Thunder Valley to present a whole new vision of the so-called Trump's America. Instead of focusing on the race, the media focused on Charlottesville, racism, and stereotypes of a region that is less than deserving of such association.
